The Trade Council of Denmark, Taipei, is currently looking for two interns for Autumn 2017.

For the period August 1st - February 1st, 2018, the Trade Council is recruiting two interns. The interns participate as an integral part of the daily work in the Trade Office promoting international relations between Danish and Taiwanese businesses.

Eager to work in one of the world’s trading powerhouses? What about gaining a global mindset with cross-cultural knowledge? Want to gain a competitive advantage when going job hunting? What about achieving a unique understanding of international trade and investment opportunities for Danish companies? Want to make use of your academic competences? Do you have hunger for a bowl of pig blood or a spicy goose neck at one of the night markets? Would you like to hitch-hike in Yangming Mountain and enjoy the Wulai hot springs in your spare time?
Do you have what it takes? If yes, here is your chance! But do not apply if you wish to be placed in a corner minding your own business, because we need to combine the capabilities from everyone in the office to make things happen.

Our office:
Our office is located in the center of Taipei in the heart of the Asia-Pacific region. We are a small team of ambitious and competent Taiwanese and Danish employees who work hard to open the eyes of the following two target groups:

• Danish companies looking to sell their goods or services in Taiwan or who are searching for new suppliers in the market.
• Taiwanese companies looking to establish a presence in Europe

Furthermore, we co-operate closely with our co-workers in China, and the North East Asia Region (Japan and South Korea) on several projects.

Your tasks as an intern will vary from project to project, but will typically include desk and field research, meeting planning, preparation of offers and market reports, partner searches, research and preparation for and participation in fairs, event management and joint promotions. You will be working within the following sectors:

Food and Agriculture
Energy and Environment
Healthcare and Life Science
ICT and Innovation
Fashion, Design and Retail

Qualifications:
You have obtained a bachelor's degree (preferably in business related studies), and currently attend a graduate school program to which you can transfer credits earned during your  internship period. You must have strong communication skills and a good knowledge of Danish and English (both written and orally). Knowledge of Mandarin is not required but it is certainly a plus. Hence, students who are majoring in Chinese language are also encouraged to apply.  It is also expected that you are a team-player, committed to your tasks and able to work independently. As a person we expect you to be outgoing, creative, and to have a personal drive all mixed with a good dose of humor.

Terms of employment:
The internship runs for 6 months and starts August 1st 2017. The position is unpaid, but concrete documented expenses (including rent, visa, flight tickets, vaccines and insurance) will be refundable up to 2500 DKK per month. In most cases students will be eligible for SU (Statens Uddannelsesstøtte) and scholarships are often granted.
