The Trade Council in Taiwan

The Trade Council of Denmark, Taipei  consists of a small but dedicated team of 10 employees, including the director and 2 interns. The team is a mix of Danish and Taiwanese trade officers, providing industrial and company specific commercial counselling.

The Trade Council focuses on the business areas of Global Growth, Global Public Affairs and Global Risks and Opportunities. Cross-cutting the business areas, services that are free of charge highlight our public service obligation at the same time as expanding our customer base.

  • Global Growth brings together traditional export promotion and internationalisation activities such as market access, joint promotion events, sourcing and establishment advice.
  • Global Public Affairs focuses on influencing decision makers and processes in relevant markets and sectors important to Danish export companies.
  • Global Risks and Opportunities brings together a variety of areas related to the specific risks and opportunities encountered by Danish companies in emerging markets. This can for example apply to risk analysis, including political risk, CSR and anti-corruption, but also to new opportunities such as Base of the Pyramid (BOP).

The Trade Council reaches out to many more small and medium-sized enterprises

The great number of small and medium-sized Danish enterprises constitutes a huge export potential – and the Trade Council therefore continues its special focus on these enterprises.

The Trade Council has a number of programmes especially targeted at the small and medium sized companies with international potential. The aim is to promote the internationalization of small and medium-sized Danish enterprises and assist them with opportunities in export markets.
The Trade Council enters into strategic partnerships with global Danish companies
The most global Danish companies – small as well as large companies – can enter into Key Account Agreements with the Trade Council in order to use the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/ the Danish Embassies more strategically to promote their exports globally. The companies are assigned a permanent adviser, who is available 24/7.

Innovation

The Danish innovation centers are part of the government’s efforts to stimulate research and innovation.
